Functional training targets the foundational anatomical functions of your body along three universal anatomy planes; making you move better at any level of fitness.
Imagine that your body is like a car – functional training essentially fine tunes the engine (your strength), increases steering mobility (your coordination) and strengthens the brakes (your flexibility). Moreover, it also focuses on long-term maintenance to ensure you always stay cruising and enjoy the ride.
Simple answer, no. If Crossfit is a high-traffic highway (fast & furious with heavy weights) then functional training is taking the scenic route. It focuses on what your body needs to thrive daily by focusing on improving your mind-body connection and setting up a fitness routine based on your individual needs
That’s alright! We start slow, focusing on form and the basics. Umar’s a stickler for doing things right, so you’ll be in safe hands. We also keep the jargon to a minimum and adopt a no-bullshit approach to things. When you’re ready to take the leap, we’ll be standing alongside you.
If shedding weight is your goal, we’ll help you with it. We’ll chat about your goals and steer you towards a fitter, perhaps even sassier version of yourself, all while making sure the lifestyle changes you make stick. We can take into consideration your aesthetic, performance and lifestyle goals to curate the perfect program for you; we can also tweak out group workouts to personalise them for you.
Fill out our form, consult with us to lay down your goals and gameplan; and we’ll send over everything you need to sign up via email (or in-person at our studio). Once you sign up, you will receive access to your personal dashboard which will keep you updated on your journey.
It’s like a fitness diary that you’ll be maintaining with us; through an excel sheet. It’s where we track your journey, from goals and obstacles to triumphs. It’s got everything you need to keep moving forward.

Ditch the selfies, and go hands-free. Wear minimal clothing (sports bra, yoga pants, shorts, tight T-shirts etc.). We need to see those body-lines to understand your body’s alignment. Refer to the images below for clarity.
Only if you’re game. We don’t believe in sharing things over any platform without your consent. You pictures are safe with us and they remain confidential. Our team will reach out to you for your permission if we want to share your pictures.
We’ll send you a comprehensive Nutrition document upon sign up. It’s your first step to eating smarter. We’re always here for further clarifications. However, here’s what you need to be mindful of:
1. Basic understanding of the MACRO split you should follow in every meal
2. The no.of snacks and meals you’re allowed per day.
3. Meal timings
Remember, your nutrition will be tweaked throughout the program, so always stay on top of it. Ask us as many questions as you want and keep us updated on your daily intake over WhatsApp.
Apart from physical exercises, nutrition is what’s going to really change the game. We need to be posted about your daily eats. It keeps you accountable, on track and us in the loop. Start from day one, stay consistent and don’t ghost us! We take nutrition & lifestyle work very seriously.
Class schedules for each week will be circulated to you once you sign up. We have multiple timings to accommodate your schedule and ensure you get the best out of our programs.
There are two ways you can reach out to us –
1. For personal food updates, requests or questions, you’re welcome to hit Umar up directly on his personal WhatsApp.
2. You will be added to a WhatsApp group for our functional training program where you will update us regarding your workouts for pre-recorded sessions, active recovery sessions and resolve any queries.
Absolutely! Just let us know everything about it so we can curate exercises that bring you back to form.
Don’t worry, staying fit isn’t about what you wear. While there are clothes that allow you to move better, at the beginning you can wear what you have. Comfort is key. Feel free to consult with us if you need help upgrading your fitness wardrobe.
One of our biggest training principles is consistency. However, we understand that life happens. Sometimes, you miss a class for various reasons and that’s okay. As long as you’re back on track the next day – you’re good to go!
Get in your fitness outfits and show up at the studio. We have everything you need for your session. If however, you want to use your own gear – please carry it with you.
We’re more than happy to accommodate your needs when you drop by our studio. Once you’re there, our admin team will brief you regarding our classes and structure. Next, we will assign you a coach to conduct a 1:1 assessment session to conduct a detailed postural and functional movement screening to understand your body’s needs. We’ll also brief you about our fundamental training protocols to ensure you get the most out of our group sessions. Keep an eye on our social calendar for all upcoming sessions!
ONLINE FAQs
You don’t need much however to guarantee a good experience we suggest:
1. A gadget with a solid video and audio quality as your main device (laptop, tablet or phone)
2. Good and stable internet connection (because nobody likes to freeze mid-lunge)
3. Bluetooth audio devices are a great choice as they will ensure you don’t miss the verbal cues during the session
4. Finally, the bigger your screen the better the view; for us & you. Smaller screens (tabs & phones) aren’t as sturdy, keep falling off, and don’t give you the full view of our live demonstrations.
Think of a mid-shot in a movie:
1. Waist high is the perfect height.
2. Switch to landscape view instead of portrait, the more we see of you, the easier it is for us to correct your posture.
3. Your mat, feet, knees, hips, shoulder and face need to be seen in the video while standing

There are three functional training classes called FT1, FT2, & FT3. These are your main training sessions. Apart from this, we have three active recovery sessions- AR1, AR2 & AR3 – every alternate day. In total, there are six days of sessions each week and one rest day. Based on your fitness level and life/work commitments, Umar may ask you to cut down classes to manage your schedule better.
We recommend starting with a light and medium pair of weights and some mini-bands. It’s like the starter kit for our fitness training. Here are some of our favourite ones (don’t worry, they’re not sponsored)
